About

Welcome to my blog. I have been interested in genealogy since I got a computer with internet back in the late 1990's, and have been actively researching my family history since 2006.

This history is very diverse: almost all of my mother's ancestors came from Britain to settle in New England in the 1600's (one exception was a German soldier who was sent here to fight the Americans during the Revolutionary War).

My father's side of family is harder to trace-- his mother was of Irish descent, and his father was a Russian Jewish immigrant.

As a result, my family tree is pretty lopsided. The main focus is going to be on colonial Massachusetts and New Hampshire ancestry-- mainly personal research and discoveries regarding my own family tree, although I also share resources and tips that I personally find helpful. It's my hope that this blog will inspire, teach, and entertain.

Three disclaimers:

1) I am NOT a professional genealogist, so please do not take my research at face value. There may be mistakes. Do your own research!

2) I do not share my real last name or those of living family members online for the sake of privacy/security. But if you have a question, please feel free to email me.

3) You are encouraged to leave comments on my blog entries-- I appreciate them, and will always reply. However, comments containing spam, ads, or incivility will be deleted.

Happy reading!
