I am also a descendant of Daniel Webster, specifically a cousin. I descend from Thomas Webster, Sarah Brewer, and Ebenezeer Webster. I also descend from the Bachelders. I guess that makes us related as well. I will let you determine the exact nature of the relation, but it is nice to meet you! :)

Kelly Wymer
admin Kiddos and Pups
http://www.kiddosandpups.com

Karen K comments on WDYTYA: Rob Lowe's and my Hessian soldier ancestors

Hi Heather-- I remember that movie, even though I was only a kid Yes, Rob Lowe is very easy on the eyes, isn't he?

Here's a link where you can watch it online:

http://www.nbc.com/who-do-you-think-you-are/video/rob-lowe/1398785

Heather Roelker comments on WDYTYA: Rob Lowe's and my Hessian soldier ancestors

I have had a crush on Rob Lowe since I first saw St. Elmo's Fire. Doing fine thanks, and hope you are too.

Ryan, yes, this was a great surprise. Wasn't expecting that! Glad to hear that it worked for you too. I didn't try Massachusetts, but I guess you did, huh? It'll be up soon, I'ms ure. I know that Lowell is your main town of interest, but it was big even back then, and going through the enumeration districts would be a pain!

Ryan O. comments on Can't find relatives in the 1940 U.S. Census? Sorry I haven't come by your place in awhile... just started a new job, and it's keeping me very busy.

Wow, your McAlpin ancestors seem to have been pretty comfortable to have two homes, ha. I don't think my people owned even one home... from census records, most of them seem to have rented.

I did find a James W. Winslow in some Newburyport city directories for the 1880's, but unfortunately this still doesn't tell me anything as far as confirming whether or not he's my ancestor. And I'd love to know if he and his family had actually moved in with Sophronia or not. If they did, they must have been having financial problems or something. If Sophronia was sick, which is another possible reason, then I would think she would have moved in with them and not the other way around. Ah well...
