I brought my point-and-shoot Nikon camera, figuring (correctly) that there would be many neat photos to take.
The four former classrooms downstairs were set up with various Christmas decorations and ornaments-- the first room held several Christmas trees. The second was filled with nutcrackers, which frankly creeped me out a bit. The last two contained elaborate displays of miniature Christmas villages and carnivals.

I love visiting historical societies this time of year. They have their Christmas displays up with Christmas villages, trees flowers and more. My daughter and I helped the Oxford (Connecticut) Historical Society set up the Christmas Village display they had. We had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWhile I was there as a docent I challenged the visitors to find the two sets of identical houses.

Hi Jim, great to see you here-- thanks for your comment.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am trying to learn about the history of my own hometown, since getting up to New England to visit those of my ancestors is not feasible right now.
Sounds like a lovely display, and kudos to your daughter for being so involved!
Merry Christmas, btw!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas displays. You made me laugh when you mentioned being creeped out by the nutcracker room. That might have creeped me out as well!
