  1. I'm amazed I didn't catch this last month. Your Daniel Webster Mace was married to Maranda B. Wilkinson in Fremont, NH in 1865. She is my distant cousin. I've been looking for information on her after her marriage. Do you know if they had more children than the William born in 1868? When did Daniel die?

  2. Hi Heather! Yes, Daniel was married to Maranda WILKINSON-- apparently they married right about the time he was discharged. I knew she was related to you, but thought you already knew about this connection-- sorry I didn't mention this to you before. I have a marriage record for them from FamilySearch-- not an original, but one of the cards filled out in the early 1900's.

I did also find (again on FS) a birth record for a James MACE born to Daniel and Maranda on 10 June 1867 in Fremont, NH-- William's older brother evidently. I see an FS marriage record for James to a Bertha M. COLLINS on 28 April 1892 in Danville.

Daniel died on 1 June 1924 in Rumford, ME-- his attending physician was his half-sister Laura Etta NOYES (nee FELLOWS, daughter of my 3x grandmother Sophronia FELLOWS and her third husband Joseph FELLOWS. He was a shoemaker.

  3. BTW, I only recently found out about Daniel being at Andersonville, via a record on Ancestry.com.
